Public debate on the12th of August

RS Constitutional Court

Pale, 8 August, 1997 (AIM) - RS Constitutional Court should carry out open public debate on the 12th of August about Constitutional validity of the decision passed by the RS president about dismissal of the National Assembly and holding the new elections.

At the public debate, which was scheduled by Mr. Gaso Mijanovic, president of the Constitutional Court, all issues relevant to the passing of the decision in this dispute will be discussed, while Mr. Slobodan Kovac was appointed informant judge.

All relevant factors in this dispute are invited to attend the public debate - RS president, representatives of Government and Assembly
as the party requesting the investigation on the validity of the decision, then intellectuals from the field of public law, as well as representatives of international community. The public debate will be held in the premises of the RS Constitutional Court in Pale, and due to the limited space, the debate will be open for journalists with credentials only.(end)
