Meeting with Mr. Frovick requested

Brčko 1 August, 1997 (AIM) - The session of the Municipal Assembly of Brcko was held yesterday in Brcko, with a single item on the agenda: " Evaluation of the registration procedure for local elections in Brcko".
Mr. Dragoljub Mirjaniå, Vice-president of RS, Mr.Ostoja Knezevic and Mr. Jessie Bunch, manager of the regional OEBS office attended the session.
Mr.Teodor Gavriå, President of the local election commission in Brcko, introduced members of committee with the results of the final registration of voters in the regions of Brcko which are part of RS and said that 3688 citizens were instructed to execute their rights through appeals to Subcommission for Appeals in Sarajevo. Subcommission for Appeal in Sarajevo, according to Mr. Gavric, decided upon 181 appeals favorably, sent 237 appeals to the Commission for confirmation of B&H citizenship, while 3.270 citizens got the opportunity to be registered and to vote in the municipality where they lived according to the nationwide survey from 1991.
Mr. Dragoljub Mirjaniå, Vice-president of RS, appealed to members of international community to settle this problem with mutual satisfaction.
The director of the regional OEBS office announced the meeting in Sarajevo on 5th of August, between Mr. Robert Frovick, President of Temporary Election Commission (PIK) and delegation from Brcko, during which ambassador Frovick should be made familiar with these issues.
