Obstructions are problem for HDZ Livno,29 July, 1997(AIM)- Session of Municipal Council of Livno which was to be held on Tuesday is postponed for the third time. The reason was insufficient quorum, the same situation repeating three times so far. Prior to postponing the session, Mr. Mirko Bakovic, President of the Municipal Council, concluded that substantial number of town-councilors are avoiding sessions for various reasons and hence belittle the Municipal Council. " If these town-councilors, however, think that their actions will put the noose on the municipality, they are seriously mistaken" stated Mr. Bakovic. In his opinion, it is the high time for the Municipal Board of HDZ to deal with such activities. The chairmanship of the local branch-office of HVIDRE has recently discussed this problem, and sent the written message to Mr. Bakovic stating that if he is incapable of holding the session of Municipal Council, he should yield his position to those who are capable of it. In his comment on the message, Mr. Bakovic underlined that this statement has no real foundation. " I can not be expected to carry the town-councilors to the session hall on my shoulders", he added.

It is worth mentioning that local Association of Croatian War Veterans (HVIDRE) is particularly interested in holding this session of Municipal Council because the session was to include the decision on settling the housing problem. (end)
