Opening of Press Center

Social Democrat Party B&H (SDP B&H)

Sarajevo, 26 July, 1997 (AIM) - Regarding the coming elections, SDP B&H opened today in Sarajevo, Press Center. Opening word was done by Mr. Zlatko Lagumdzija, President SDP B&HP, followed by appearance of Mr. Karlo Filipovic, Secretary General SDP B&H, Mr. Boro Bjelobrk, Head of Election List SDP Novo Sarajevo Municipality, Ms. Aida Miricinac candidate from Zavidovici, Mr. Ivan Mijacevic, candidate from Gradacac and Mr. Mirsad Dapo, candidate from Brcko.

"We this kind of people, who can ask the citizens what the want, and we are able to realize that", said Mr. Bjelobrk, while Mr. Dapo stated that SDP is the party "which is going to build the bridges between people and realize the idea that Brcko belongs to the people originated from Brcko".

Mr. Lagumdzija stated that the final goal of SDP B&H in the oncoming elections is to be well organized, better and stronger. He further added that this goal would be fulfilled by gaining 4 in one, 14 or 24 percent of votes in another place. According to Mr. Lagumdzija SDP will appear in 72 municipalities in B&H with 1.400 candidates in the oncoming elections.(End)
