***"Crime is leading us towards the catastrophe"

Bijeljina, 10 July, 1997 (AIM) - "I had to brake the chain of crime and corruption in RS, because it was leading us towards the catastrophe. That is why I made such radical moves. I dismissed the Assembly because majority members were quiet, supporting that way the deal made between two persons in one room", stated Mrs. Biljana Plavsic, President RS, at the meeting, held last night in Bijeljina, where, in spite of possible incidents, there were about 10.000 persons.

"This is a pedagogue education for them, and now they are shaken, and, therefore, please, do not stop", pleaded she, adding that international community recognizes Serb people from those who use the power of government to become rich. She directly accused suspended Minster of Interior: "They value such Minister better that the President RS ,not because he is capable, but because he is ready to bring dirty money in beg to his commander. They told me that I am responsible for the lives of 500 men, and I ask myself, what is the relation of their connection? I am responsible to the relatives and families of 17.000 young men who died for RS, and to whole RS people. One day, we can wake up and find out that they sold everything. I can not bear the responsibility while Velibor Ostojic is signing the transfer of DEM 17 Mill to some bank in Italy, without approval of the RS Government and RS President".

She denied all accusation against her as a traitor, stating that "the time will prove very soon if traitors are those who have apartments and houses all-round Yugoslavia and Greece, with foreign bank accounts, or herself, who was and will stay with RS people".

There were no incidents during the meeting, organized by Union of
Ex soldiers Majevica and Semberija, except throwing eggs at the SRT office, which might be considered as compensation for the pressure under the people are these days in RS.(End)
